Elon Musk deletes ‘no one trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala’ post after backlash

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has deleted a controversial post on why there were “no” attempts to kill US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris after a backlash following former President Donald Trump’s apparent second assassination attempt.
Earlier, a user on X asked Elon Musk why some wanted to kill Donald Trump. To this, the tech billionaire joked and wrote, “And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala.”
However, several users slammed Elon Musk for his “insensitive” comments.
Responding to the criticism after deleting his controversial post, Elon Musk wrote, “Well, one lesson I have learned is that just because I say something to a group and they laugh, it doesn’t mean it’s going to be all that hilarious as a post on X.”
Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, on Sunday (local time) was rushed to safety after gunshots were fired outside a golf course in Florida where he was playing.
The suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, a 58-year-old Democrat supporter, left an AK-47-style assault rifle and other items at the scene and fled in a vehicle but was later arrested by US investigative agencies.
The assassination attempt took place at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, located about 15 minutes from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida.
In a message to his supporters shortly after the incident, Donald Trump assured them that he was safe and declared that he “will never surrender”.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were briefed about the incident and said they were relieved to know that Donald Trump was safe.
